Sometimes we get so, er, fascinated by the microcosm of living in "interesting times" that your macrocosmic overview is much needed and appreciated. Plus I just finished reading John Steinbeck's "Log of the Sea of Cortez" which also deals with evolution. Although didn't aliens build the pyramids and then move on to build Mayan temples, LOL.

Thank you for your comments. I am of the opinion that human nature is essentially the same as the nature of all living things, with differences that are similar to all differences between species. What distinguishes humans from all others today is technology, but if another species had developed it instead of humans, the result would not be substantially different, and it would be the threat to survival that it is today.
